Além do consagrado TinyURL outro bom serviço é o Bit.ly. Tem também o migre.me. Cada site oferece alguns recursos diferentes, mas o objetivo é o mesmo. E ganham fama com a popularização do Twitter, onde postar links pequenos é essencial.
Um outro que entra no ramo também é o dot.tk, que ficou – e no momento está – fora do ar por não aguentar o tráfego. Ele daria um subdomínio, algumacoisa.tk, em vez de uma barra seguida do apelido do link.
Esse tipo de site está virando praga, assim como já ocorreu com os fotologs, digg-like, redes sociais, sites de gifs para orkut, etc.
